The Jesse Cyrus Hamric Foundation will see this vision to fruition by creating and supporting projects which:

Live LOCALLY, Love LOCALLY.

In word and in deed, Jesse lived the mantra of ‘blooming where one is planted.’ From tree climbing in the landmine fields of Bosnia to ski dancing in West Virginia, Jesse embodied Living and Loving LOCALLY. The JCH Foundation will continue to support young people living big and loving big in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. In one small example, recognizing that music is a conduit for joy and comradery in young people, the JCH Foundation supported the purchase and installation of high definition speakers at Steamboat Springs High School. More projects are on the horizon.

Live Big, Talk Big: Preserve and foster the art of STORYTELLING

The Foundation will support speakers, workshops, podcasts, and writings that foster storytelling. Jesse believed that storying (very much a VERB) was a crucial part of making connections–with strangers and lifelong friends, alike. In our evolved culture which values soundbites over stories, the JCH Foundation seeks to foster the art of STORYING and STORYTELLING to create and strengthen connections across geography and across generations.

Live Big, Play Big: Create OPPORTUNITIES for young people to Live a Little Bigger

The JCH Foundation is excited to sponsor rail jams and jam sessions to foster an environment of love, courage and inclusivity in snowboard, skateboarding, and other high adrenaline activities. In the arms race of achievement and accomplishment that young people face today, Jesse was an anomaly, He believed that when one of his buddies threw and landed a trick it was a giant collective win. The JCH Foundation will provide opportunities for kids to spend time outdoors, push their limits, and find joy in the adventure of LIVING BIG.

Think Big, Live Big: Support efforts which encourage FEARLESS LOVE and INCLUSIVITY in Colorado and across the Bigger World

Jesse spent a lot of time engaging in community service; whether voluntary or volun-told-ary, Jesse was at his best when serving, motivating, and leading others. The JCH Foundation seeks to organize, galvanize, and publicize youth efforts of service to inspire and create change. The Foundation will offer mini-grants, scholarships, and sponsorships for individuals and groups of students to create and launch their own events, paths of study, publications, and projects which encourage living big and loving big. The Foundation will also provide workshops and speaker series to promote healthy competition and sustainable sports psychology.
